E-Design FAQ's

What is e-design?

You've got questions! I hope this page helps to answer them! If you cant find the answer to your questions here, I encourage you to reach out to me via e-mai, call or text!

WHAT IS E-DESIGN?

E-design is a new approach to interior design that happens completely online!

We correspond via email, text, calls, and video chats. I get tons of information from you and in the end, you get a room design!

WHAT KIND OF INFORMATION DO YOU NEED FROM ME?

I will ask that fill out the client questionnaire. I will also ask you to take thorough measurements of your space, and LOTS of pictures. Don't worry, I have put together a measurement guide to help you! I will also ask you more questions than what's on the client questionnaire, based on the space you have selected.

All of this will be needed before we ever schedule our first meeting!

WHY DO YOU NEED SO MUCH INFORMATION BEFORE WE MEET?

With e-design, our time together is limited. I want to make the most of every second you are paying for. If I can have a basic lay of the land before we chat, we can accomplish a whole lot in our phone/video meeting!

Having all the information ahead of time, allows me to draw the space up, so we can talk layouts, and design during our chat.

HOW LONG DOES THE PROCESS USUALLY TAKE?

The process varies on the type of room we are designing.

For bedrooms, living, dining or offices the typical turnaround time would be about 14 days.

For bathrooms extend that out to 21 days.

For kitchens, you can expect about a month.

Regardless. of your project size, a timeline will be given at the end of your first meeting.

WHEN IT'S ALL SAID & DONE, WHAT DO I GET?

This will depend on the design option you select.

For single rooms i.e. bedroom, office, living or dining room, you will get a floor plan with furniture layout. You will also receive a shopping list with links to purchase each piece of furniture. On the layout, each piece will be labeled and correspond to the shopping list.

For bathrooms or kitchens, you will receive a construction packet. That construction packet will have everything you need to take your design to a contractor to turn it into reality. This packet will include a detailed floor plan, specification sheet, spec packet and work order packet. It also may include an electrical plan, elevations, and cabinet drawings. You also may receive a sample box, with physical samples of the materials selected, corresponding to your specification sheet.

I HAVE AN OPEN CONCEPT HOME, HOW DOES THAT WORK?

If you have an open concept and/or want to tackle multiple rooms in one remodel, please contact me for a quote. You can also fill out the client questionnaire and select "Open Concept" or multiple rooms and I will reach out to you to discuss your project!

WHAT IS THE "HYBRID" OPTION?

If you live local to me, in the central valley, we can arrange a "hybrid" e-design. What this means is I will come to you for the initial design meeting. I will take all the measurements and photos and ask a million questions. Then, I will send over concepts and designs via email and we're back to e-design norm.

However, if you are taking on a large scale project like a kitchen remodel, I will also be available to meet in-person for contractor meetings or construction check-ins. If you are interested in a hybrid e-design, please send me an email!
